Gayle Miller
Nature is the inspiration for my work, whether it be a landscape, seascape, floral, or navigation chart.
I use acrylic on NOAA navigation charts, watercolor, and acrylic on various watercolor papers, and acrylic and oil on canvas. My watercolor techniques include dry brush, wet into wet, graded washes, sratching, lifting, splattering, masking, and glazing. In 2003, I began a relationship with a Miami-based national chain of art galleries, painting navigation charts and watercolors. I have featured clients' boats, houses, family members, lighthouses, and military monuments. Among commissions painted are charts of Lake Michigan; Lake Champlain, N.Y.; the Caribbean; Hawaii; and the Florida Keys. I am a member of the Marion Cultural Alliance, the Art Center of Citrus County, and Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon. Please visit my website: www.nauticalchartart.com. |
