Support Our Art Scholarship
Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon sponsors a scholarship each year for high school seniors within a 50-mile radius of our gallery who plan to study creative arts in college. We are the only gallery in the area offering scholarships to the young artists in our community. As a 501c3 nonprofit group, we rely on contributions to fund our scholarship.
A raffle at our annual Art Festival helps fund the scholarship. But if you could donate $25, $50 or more to help fund the scholarship, we would be deeply grateful. And you could claim the contribution as a charitable donation on your taxes!
If you’d like to donate to our scholarship, please mail your contribution to us at the gallery at 20804 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon, FL 34431, or stop in and see us.
You also can donate online below.
The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. You may call us during business hours at (352) 445-8547.

Gallery Awards Scholarships to Two Area Students
2022 Art Scholarship Recipients:
From left, Fausto Jarquin and Gloria Altamirano, who are the parents of art scholarship winner Joel Jarquin; Nate Davila, who is the partner of art scholarship winner Bethany "Joy" Evans; Erin Sorensen, who is the education director of Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon gallery; and Bridget Hanley, president of the gallery.
Two recent area high school students are about to launch their dreams to study art-related subjects in college, helped by scholarships from Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon gallery.
Joel Jarquin of Belleview High School and Bethany ”Joy” Evans of Lecanto High School each received a $1,000 scholarship from the gallery to pursue their artistic goals.
The gallery raises the money from such events as its annual art festival in the spring and other happenings.
Joel is the son of Gloria Altamirano and Fausto Jarquin of Belleview and plans to attend the Art Institute of Chicago, where he will study studio art, digital art, and graphic design.
Joy is the daughter of Beth Evans of Inverness and Tony Evans of Ocala. She plans to study three-dimensional art and theater scene design at Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga.
Joel is vice president of the Spanish Club, a member of National Honor Society, and chemistry club. Joy is president of chorus and a member of National Honor Society.
Joel said art to him is a way to express oneself in a universal language that everyone can understand. Joy said through art, she is able to express what’s inside her head that she can’t verbally express.
They both encourage high school seniors to apply for scholarships.
Joel recommends, “Definitely start early. Look into local scholarships and try to fit a niche.”
Joy said, “Apply even if you don’t think you’ll get it because you might surprise yourself.”

Westpost High Student Wins Art Scholarship
Westport High School graduate Carrie Emerson is the winner of a $1,000 scholarship from Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon.
Contestants were asked to submit photos of three pieces of their art and write an essay on why art is important. They needed a teacher's recommendation and also had to answer how they would use the scholarship money.
On the gallery's Facebook page, Emerson wrote, "I am blessed to say I received my first scholarship from Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon. I wanted to give them a shout-out because they are the sweetest people, and I would love for more students to apply for the award next year!"
