Peace & Joy

In a world filled with overstimulation, rushing from day to day, and not noticing the small blessings in life, I want whoever looks at my artwork to smile, to feel a sense of peace and/or joy.

I’m in love with the magic of everyday life and the fragments that make it beautiful. I aim to highlight the beauty in small moments.

Family, pets (mostly cats lol), nature, and my faith are important to me, so they are often showcased in my artwork.

My process and medium for each artwork vary and are treated as a new challenge to myself. My painting style is delicate, detailed, and slightly nerve-wracking, but I always feel so much pride to see a vision come to life.

Fragmented Art

Inspired by the broken, by the pieces that make life beautiful, I create perfectly imperfect paintings by...

1. Sketching the entire scene
2. Adding lines and shapes organically to make it into "imperfect" fragments
3. Painting with my miniature brush in between the lines (no masking fluid)
4. Mixing colors to bring the image to life
5. Erasing all the lines
6. Admiring all the small pieces coming together as one

Silhouettes

My silhouettes are a passion of mine on their own. I've always admired the intricacies of living beings. I am mesmerized by the ease with which our bodies move (even though they are so complex).

I simplify the figure to capture the essence, the fantasy, and the magic behind the subtleties of nonverbal communication...

I became even more addicted and observant over 11 years ago, when I was taking drawing classes and quickly filled up my sketchbooks with everyday people walking, talking, and going through their daily life.

All so normal, but enchanting to witness. An appreciation for all the small moments that I've kept about the slow rhythm of the mundane and ease of movement that stuck with me.

My silhouettes are my way of capturing a moment in time. They each express a specific emotion and meaning, even if it's not a wild story. Each of them is a part of their own scene.

While often exaggerated and abstract, they're all based on the fluidity of the human body.

Clash of Colors

The contrast, the drama, the impact. It's simply beautiful to me... Especially in my silhouettes. I always feel like the contrast always brings it all together. Even in instances when I explore Puntillismo (dot art), the black background inspires me to create movement with every dot.

The more high contrast something is, the more I love a painting. I discovered ink over 11 years ago, and I've had a slight obsession with it since. And when I don't use black ink, I often find myself creating contrasting colors.

There's something fun and exciting about how things that are so different can create such beautiful results.

Art is a place of joy and peace for me, and my style often reflects that. It's serious, but bright. It's somber, yet gentle.

Exploring Mediums

The world is filled with beauty and potential. Whether it’s a real flower, leaf, avocado seed, wood, pinecone, or discarded frame, I love discovering how to amplify the already beautiful: the traditional and natural.

I enjoy exploring techniques and materials, giving them a chance for others to appreciate them by combining them with my creativity.

The experimentation usually comes to life in the frames I select to display my artwork, or when I create jewelry.

My jewelry itself is intended to be miniature works of art. Carefully crafted by hand to showcase the medium it's created in.
