Metal Art & Design

After years of drawing and programming with computers. I worked for years with machinery. After selling my company, I decided to follow my passion of designing my own pieces with aid of programming /machinery knowledge.
In the process of choosing what I wanted to create I had to accept the fact that I was fascinated by fire.
Born on the 4th of July and convinced all the fireworks were just for me. I had the privilege in 2011 to see an actual CNC plasma table cutting. This changed everything. The machine cuts with fire like a welding torch.

My 30 years of drafting and programing allowed me to draw all my own art pieces, along with custom pieces for others.
Once the drawing is complete and programmed out to the CNC the torch will go cut what my program tells it to.
I work with 12 gauge steel and grind down to bare metal after cutting. Then I fine sand grind the metal in different patterns to show movement when there is a light source. I then chemically stain the metal to create the different colors. No two pieces could ever be exactly the same colors based on the process.
The art is then clear coated with an automotive two part epoxy to seal in the steel to keep it from rusting. Allowing the art to be hung inside or outside.

My favorite part is coming up with new designs or working with a customer to bring their vision to life.
I’ve been creating my metal art since 2011.
