Ro Martinez
A self-taught visual artist, Ro Martinez believes in creativity without restriction and blends Abstract and Op-Art with ease to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
She lives and works in Inverness. Ro's creative journey began in 1980 when she painted three murals in New York. She launched her professional art path in 2017 after a 34-year commercial acting and modeling career. Ro works with acrylics in black and white, mixing in a rainbow of colors inspired by her Colombian heritage to merge geometric patterns with abstraction. She uses her passion for love stories to move viewers so they feel the healing power of art. Looking at the world through artistic eyes, she’s often accused of wearing rose-colored glasses. When she’s not in the studio painting, she’s thinking about painting. She’s inspired by tall trees with sun rays coming through, and sunsets, especially since no two are alike. Her influences are Piet Mondrian for his use of color and Victor Vasarely for his patterns. Her geometric work takes control, but her abstract art is the absence of control. Blending the two is pure jubilation for Ro. She’s currently creating her love story series, examining love of self, lover, friends, family, and God. She invites the viewer to come look into her linear, colorful world and leave full of joy. She can be reached at: romartinezrimes@gmail.com. Her website is: www.romartinezart.com. |
