Gallery Gatherings
Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon is pleased to introduce Gallery Gatherings, a once-a-month dip into all things art, open to the public, including artists. We will be featuring informational talks, demonstrations, musings, and readings on an eclectic array of topics. The events are free, open to the public, and intended to encourage new people to find the gallery and friends to return. Join in, meet the artists, and have some fun!

Gallery Readings

Hear local writers who are members of Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon gallery read their work when the gallery presents a Gallery Gathering of writers Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. The writers include:
Margo Wilson, a journalist and creative writer, who will serve as moderator and read from her novel, “The Main Ingredient.
Her 10-Minute Play, “The Mrs. and the Manatee,” recently was performed at the Valerie Theatre in Inverness as part its 10-Minute Play Festival.
Her poem, “Dunnellon,” will appear in the 2022 Poetry Marathon Anthology.
She freelances for the Citrus County Chronicle and is a former newspaper reporter, editor, and college professor.

Ro Martinez, an artist and former model, will read from her book, “Modeling at Any Age.” Martinez has 32 years of experience as a model. She also was an actress, mostly showing off her talent in commercials.
She did ads for theme parks, including Disney parks; for healthcare organizations; and for Publix.
“I usually was the mom with a few kids or a professional,” she said. “I was the doctor or the lawyer."
She turned to abstract and op-art in 2017.

Jane Falkner, a freelance journalist/writer, loves a good story better than anything.
She is an award-winning sports journalist, a teacher, a single mom, and a social justice activist.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Alma College in Alma, Mich., where she double-majored in English and education, and a master’s degree in education from Virginia Tech, focusing on curriculum and instruction, with an additional endorsement as a Literacy Specialist.
Falkner grew up in Clarksville, Tenn., home of the “Mighty, Mighty Wildcats.”
She is the mother of two grown children and was selected as a 2016 regional artist by the United Arts Council, based in Raleigh, N.C.
She is one of the first women sports journalists in the Southeast.
A question-and-answer session will follow the readings and light refreshments will be available.
