Basket Weaving -- Ears of Indian Corn
Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Instructor: Meredith McCartan; Cost: $30, plus $10 to instructor for materials. Class size: Six students maximum; two students minimum. Basket weavers of all levels are invited to join us to weave ears of colorful Indian corn. We will do a spiral weave, using dyed round and space-dyed flat, oval reeds. To further the realistic look of these ears, we will attach natural corn husks. These "baskets" are perfect of table decorations or as a door hanging. Students should be able to complete two or more ears. Wear your play clothes and bring a towel or apron because the reed is softened in water for flexibility. You will also need to wear a mask as COVID-19 precautions will be observed with social distancing and sanitizing.
