I have always drawn. I consider it a gift. I did an oil painting at 10. I was able to sell or barter some of my art when I lived in Portland, Ore. However, life and circumstances interfered and I did not do art for 30 years. Five years ago, I started painting again and trying new mediums. I have expanded into china painting, feather painting, and art dolls. My art is whimsical and can be functional. My paintings tend to be nature in all its forms, and realistic. My dolls make people smile because they remind people of someone they know. I am always trying new things. My husband, James, bought a 3-D printer and began asking me, "What do you want me to print?" I needed shoes or a purse for a doll, so he made accessories. Now he has a full-fledged hobby, and he says I have made him an artist. He has created display stands for my painted feathers, a stand for an ostrich egg, furniture for miniatures, and assorted accessories, brackets and stands. He has started making lithopanes. He can take any photo and make a 3-D print. When a light is put behind the print, you see a replica of the photo. These are amazing and fascinating.
